Hunt Postponed (Again)

So it seems that everyone loves our hunt ideas except designers. Can't have a hunt without prizes, now can we? Well, we could, but it just wouldn't be as much fun.

We're trying to figure out a way to do this in such a way as the hunters would have to go to each shop to look for clues. Kind of like a mission. The shooting part would have to come at the end.

On behalf of all of the FFFM Hunt organizers and myself, I apologize for the delay. I know this has been going on for months now, but we really are trying to bring you something unique and more fun than hopping around the grid in a frustrated search for the mediocre.

The Secret Agent Hunt

Free Finds For Men will be organizing various themed hunts in order to introduce exceptionally talented designers to the male population of Second Life. We get a lot of feedback from them regarding what kind of items they're looking for, and this will be a fun way for them to find new favorite designers and spread the word around the grid.

We will be advertising our participating designers as heavily as possible throughout various blogs and feeds. Currently, we're either going to invite bloggers and their guests to hunt 48 hours prior to opening to the public, or we'll arrange for preview copies of the prizes to be sent to them upon request.

The SECRET AGENT HUNT will run from November 6th to November 9th.

.'====' HOW DOES IT WORK?

The theme for this hunt will be "Secret Agent". All prizes must be appropriate to the theme. No clothing, hair, or skin items will be accepted for this hunt. Other hunts we will have will have different requirements, but we've had many requests by men who would like to find more good gadget designers, so that's what we're going for this time.

The hunt will take place on 1/4 sim, which will be set up to suit the theme. Hunters will pick up a hunting package which will include the gun that they will be permitted to use. No other weapons will be permitted in order to keep everyone on an even playing field.

The hunt server will rez all prizes at random points, where they will remain until shot. We may revise this to make the prizes disappear after a few minutes and re-rez elsewhere. Once the prize has been shot, the hunter will receive the contents, and the prize will either disappear or blow up (that hasn't been decided yet, as this server is in beta, and we're not sure what limits we have).

After a prize has been won, and it has disappeared, the server will rez another one, meaning that all prizes will be available to shoot at all times, but never in the same spot.

All participants will be encouraged to help one another. They can cheat all they want (if they can figure out how).

The SECRET AGENT HUNT is by invitation only. If you have received this note card, we consider your work particularly excellent and proper for the hunt. If interested, the store owners must return this note card to confirm entry.

Once this note card is received, organizers will send a confirmation and an invitation to the hunters group.

The participants to this hunt are strongly encouraged to offer an exclusive gift. The items must be original (created by you), reflect the theme of the hunt and suit the list below:

- weapons
- vehicles
- sex items
- animations
- gadgets: multitool huds, scripted accessories or scripted furniture etc.

You can choose to give as gift an item that is currently sold at your store. In this case please disable its sell during the hunt.

Introduction

Welcome the the Free Finds For Men Hunt page.

This is where we will be posting news, and advertising for our hunts, which we plan to have on a (sort of) regular basis.

As of right now, we're planning to have themed hunts, and they may be on a quarterly basis.

All hunts will be small (25 max designers), and they will all be short (no more than 7 days).

The purpose of these hunts will be to promote and encourage the fabulous artists of Second Life who have chosen to include the male population in their designs. Oh yeah, and to have fun : )
